Good thing Big Ben has been keeping his blog updated.
I think it’s really cool that athletes blog and we as fans get a small insider’s perspectives on things. It also brings them to a more human level, rather than the mega-star athlete pedestal that we tend to put them on.
I remember reading a blog this past fall from a rookie trying to crack the Edmonton Oilers lineup in training camp. It was cool to read his thoughts and opinion of how he did in camp, and also what he did in his down time. I like some of the blogs from media members of teams because they are more candid about things than they would be on TV or the radio.
While some fans might expect (or even demand) athletes to relate to fans, I love the interaction between athletes and fans through blogs. It feeds our craving to know more and we can almost literally eat, sleep and breathe that team.
